ICGC publishes geothermal resource map of Catalonia

The Catalan Institute of Geological and Mining Research (ICGC) has published a geothermal resource map of Catalonia, Spain. The map, which covers an area of over 32,000 square kilometers, identifies areas with high potential for geothermal energy development based on geological and geophysical data. The map is intended to serve as a tool for investors and developers to identify suitable locations for geothermal energy projects in the region. Catalonia has significant geothermal potential, particularly in areas with high heat flow, and the development of geothermal energy could contribute to the region’s energy transition and economic development.
